The MC4-SE sports a 4.5-inch bass speaker, reminiscent of the esteemed Norwegian SEAS H1152. Housed within a sturdy cast aluminum basin frame, it includes a T-iron component with a dorsal protrusion for added structural robustness. It’s essential to emphasize that Audiomis takes pride in designing and producing its proprietary speaker drivers in-house.

MC4SE meticulous engineering and attention to detail make it a standout choice for audiophiles seeking premium sound quality in a compact package.

Description

Features

Tweeter - Featuring a distinctive 1X1-inch (25-mm) silk dome tweeter, this speaker boasts a meticulously engineered slight arc design and a sandblasted finish, offering an understated yet sophisticated texture. Its innovative magnetic liquid cooling technology enhances thermal management, boosts power handling, and minimizes distortion. In the development of the MC4-SE's mid-bass component, the tweeter's coating is distinct, sharing a similar architecture with the tweeter in MC5 model, yet it maintains a unique design. To guarantee uniformity across the speakers, extensive testing is conducted throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring that each tweeter's frequency response remains within a tight ±1dB range.

Woofer - Utilizing a 4-inch AUDIOMIS special damping-coated PP diaphragm and a long-stroke design, complemented by an independently molded aluminum frame, enhances the rigidity and stability of the speaker structure, resulting in clearer mid- and low-frequencies, especially under high dynamics. The SE speaker folding ring, crafted from a distinct high-precision mold, creates a gradient-like folding ring, a design that demands considerable technical expertise and refinement to execute. This approach bears resemblance to that found in select European high-end speakers.

When it comes to sound quality, the MC4-SE delivers an immersive listening journey, faithfully capturing instrument shapes and proportions while maintaining a balanced and vibrant timbre. Key enhancements over its predecessor include:

  • Elevated realism in violin tones, boasting exceptional resolution and density that even outshines the previous MC4.
  • Improved rendition of cello tones, showcasing clearer delineation of instrument shapes and rhythms.
  • Enhanced low-frequency performance, yielding deeper and quicker bass responses.
  • Seamless transition between mid-range and high frequencies, resulting in more robust and coherent vocal representation.

While technical specifications like sensitivity and impedance remain consistent with the MC4, real-world performance surpasses expectations. With appropriate amplification, the MC4-SE exceeds its technical limits, delivering impressive low-frequency prowess and rich mid-frequency depth.

In terms of vocal performance, the MC4-SE stands out for its ability to convey subtle emotional nuances. Compared to its predecessor, the MC4-SE offers enhanced clarity and resonance in vocal reproduction, enhancing the listening experience. It excels in rendering intricate vocal harmonies and instrument intricacies with a blend of warmth and finesse.

Whether reproducing classical compositions like Brahms' Violin Sonata or Renaud Garcia-Fons' "Mediterranean Style," the MC4-SE surprises with its adeptness at capturing the intricacies of string instruments and delivering robust bass performance. Despite its compact form, the MC4-SE radiates remarkable energy and musicality, creating an enveloping auditory experience.
